It’s important to keep both the free core MailPoet plugin and the MailPoet Premium plugin updated to their latest versions. The plugins should match for at least the first two numbers of the X.Y.Z version number. Sometimes the premium plugin will not have an update when the Z of the core plugin is updated, however the X and Y will need to match.
If the versions don’t match, then the premium features will be deactivated to avoid incompatibility issues between the plugins, and you will see a banner in your administrator dashboard.

If you are seeing this error message on your MailPoet admin pages and there is no update available for the MailPoet Premium plugin on the Plugins page, you can try to force the update to show up by going to the WordPress Dashboard > Updates and click on the “Check again” button.
If it doesn’t work, then you can deactivate and delete your Premium plugin in order to manually install the new version.

Deactivating and deleting the MailPoet Premium plugin won’t result in any data loss in your MailPoet installation, rest assured.
After deleting the plugin, you can download the .zip file for the Premium plugin from your MailPoet account and then manually upload it on the WordPress dashboard > Plugins page.
