On July 31, 2022, we will be discontinuing the MailPoet 2 service completely.
We strongly recommend switching to MailPoet 3 for more reliable service and to protect your website against any security vulnerabilities.
What does it mean to have the MailPoet 2 plugin discontinued?
It means that we will no longer offer any type of service related to the old plugin.
- Licenses will no longer be available to purchase or renew;
- MailPoet 2 accounts will not be available to be accessed;
- Security updates will cease and no eventual issues will be fixed;
- No customer support will be made available (not even to paid customers);
- The MailPoet 2 cron option will be retired as well.
The plugin will still exist and if you have it installed on your website, you should be able to continue using it if you want to. However, we do not recommend keeping a plugin that has been discontinued due to security concerns.
Is it safe to continue using MailPoet 2?
No, it is not safe as security updates will cease after July 31 2022. Should any new MailPoet 2 security vulnerabilities be discovered, they would not be fixed and could put your site at risk of a breach.
If you decide to continue using MailPoet 2, you need to be aware that we won’t be looking into any future issues the old plugin may have and can’t be responsible for any attacks and other malicious attempts your website may suffer through our plugin.
We strongly recommend you migrate to MailPoet 3, which is actively developed and gets regular improvements and fixes.
